TRAILER
TRACKs
So your film, TV show, or video game is done, and it’s amazing, your final cut is locked, and you’re ready for the world to anticipate its release. Well, then you’ll need a bold twisted kick-ass or serene Trailer track to build hype and leave a lasting impression on your viewers.
Did you know that the music you hear in a movie, Video-game or TV show Trailer is almost always never the same as the music featured in its underscore? This is often deliberate because a Trailer track can be considered more of a marketing and promotional device than an artefact of the narrative media. Its musical structure has been perfected over time by composers, producers and editors, to function perfectly as a tool to draw in a crowd. There are many ways this music structure can be deployed, usually by using huge risers and subtle booms to build and release tension, face-smashing hits to cut action and jaw-dropping bass drops to induce in your audience a sense of intrigue, wonder or amazement. Even an over-hyped trailerised version of a popular commercial song works today and if done right all the above would most certainly leave your viewers with a “Holy s**t, I have to see that” gasp under their breath.
Idris Blac has mastered the Trailer track structure, setting himself easily amongst the top tier of Trailer music composers working in the media music industry, drawing crowds into home theatres and cinema seats today.
